This lumps one person with the responsibility for gathering money from
potential strangers, and potentially lumps them with the short end of the
stick if one or more of their group of 6 decides to skip out on paying...
This just serves to shift the financial responsibility from, currently, the
poor organisers that are responsible enough to hang around until the end of
the night, to some poor sod that says "sure" when asked to be the "person in
charge" of a group of people. Doesn't seem to solve the problem any better
than what happened the other night.
For what it's worth, if anybody's keeping score, I'm for prepaid at the
door, to either the restaurant or a "person in charge". I'm not sure about
the whole token/tag/sticker thing. It's a dinner, you should be there for
the dinner. But do we want to exclude people just along for the talks?
