1) move closer
2) if you put your name up (on attendance list or the waiting list), you
must either:
  a) pitch
  b) remove your name in a timely manner

I think people are finding it easier to put their name on the list then
to take their off the list.

The reminder was sent out six (6!) days before the event.  Why not make
your e-mail client make noises and flash lights and stuff and things
when you get Jonathans announcement mail?
