Hi everyone

I emailed Melinda from Mel's Village Kitchen to ask a few preliminary
questions (seating capacity, waiving of corkage, that kind of thing).

She seems keen to host us. I can't vouch for the food, as I haven't actually
eaten at the restaurant yet, but their service was efficient and
unobtrusive. Mel was also really accommodating - she allowed us to bring our
own platters (even had her chef perk them up a little), and she was ready to
help with every request we had. This is probably a good sign.

Here's her response:

Hi Kerry-Anne

Nice to hear from you again.

We can surely help you - a good number is a total of 80 people which gives
you a total of 10 tables.

Yes each table can have their own bill and I do not have a problem with
charging no corkage. Please can I have a bottle for my collection?

Anyway think about how much you want to spend per head as well. Coming into
winter I suggest the following:

Gluwein on arrival

A hearty vegetable soup with freshly baked breads as a starter

A buffet of differtent curries (beef, chicken and vegetarian) with rice,
vegetables and the rest

Baked chocolate pudding with custard

Total R125 per person

Anyway let's make an appointment to meet.

Regards

Melinda Sides
